America's Shameful Thanksgiving Secret Revealed
Notice anything interesting about all the turkeys being pardoned in these pictures?
That's right! None of these turkeys are from the inner-city.
Last year, Michael Kraskin pointed out here on this blog that in Bush's first seven years in office, not once did he pardon a non-caucasian turkey for Thanksgiving.
But, now, at Political Machine, he's showing us that the problem is much more systemic. It appears that no president since Harry Truman has pardoned a turkey of color. Not even Bill Clinton, our first black turkey president.
Let's hope that Barack Obama has the decency to make change happen and pardon, at least, a mixed-race turkey next year.

I never enjoyed white turkeys, thanks god at last we now have a black turkey inside the white house and 2008 christmas gonna be the best!

I thought I’d take a moment and list the things I’m thankful for this year. I am thankful that:
#1 I am not a turkey.
#2 I have survived George W. Bush’s Presidency thus far and only have another two months to wait until its over.
#3 Sarah Palin is not the VP elect.
#4 I learned what “Two girls, one cup” is and I never have to watch that carnival geek show again.
#5 I have been “schooled” by a Ron Paul supporter.
#6 My mind is miniscule.
#7 Discovering I have neigh limitless douchebaggery and anger.
#8 Comedy Central has provided me with a place where I can express my douchebaggery and anger in a nondestructive manner and has helped keep me sane for the past twelve months.
#9 My fellow douche bags have found the same place for expressing themselves and have kept me laughing for the past twelve months.
Sorry to anyone or anything that did not make the list. But going to #10 would be too David Letterman.

I’ve never understand why this photo op is done. What, are we all supposed to feel collectively better about gorging ourselves sick on Turkeys because the President took time out of his day to have a picture with one and say, “Hey, no one is going to kill you this year.”’
Fuck, I’d rather have lechon asado over any turkey dish any day of the year. But you’ll never see the President pardoning a pig from the roasting pan. Will you?
