Jon Stewart on the Sarah Palin Interview

POSTED BY: TheInDecider

Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart pointed out that Sarah Palin would bring the much needed overconfidence that is lacking in the current administration.

To answer Jon's question, no,  He's not the only one who believes blinking is actually healthy.  Blinking brings much needed moisture to one of our most delicate organs, which in turn can help ensure that our ability to see the world around us clearly is preserved.

But Palin is not talking about eye moistening.  She's using the term "blink" in the manner introduced to the world by Malcom Gladwell, and according to Fred Kaplan at Slate:

…the thesis of his best-selling book Blink was not that snap decisions are superior to decisions based on careful deliberation. It was that people who have a deep understanding of what they do—for instance, really good surgeons, military commanders, air-traffic controllers, and so forth—often make their best decisions quickly and instinctively.

But if you don't know what you're dealing with, snap decisions can be fatal.

Fatal? Yikes.  It's a good thing she got all that expertise from gazing at Russia.

  2. I am so tired of this democratic extremist crap. Obama isn't for change, he is for anything anybody whines about. He will support full federal funding for any issue any crybaby says isn't fair. He supports women's rights b/c his wife tells him to. He supports killing a baby that is born alive b/c fem extremists tell him to. Obama has no real stand except to make every promise he has to. Who should pay for a patient's rape kit? Everytime you say the govt should I wonder if you actually realize that the taxpayers are the ones footing the bill. Do you realize that universal medicine and full govt funding for everyone means socialism. You dems are so vocal about women's rights to their bodies, what about taxpayers rights to their paychecks? We need someone who can fight back and reign in these greedy wall street bastards and Obama aint it. He will just promise them incentives as they pour on their bankruptcy sob stories.

  3. so you are saying that if your mother was murdered, you should be required to pay for the csi tools to find out who did it? The investigative force shouldn't be held responsible for that? the tax payers yes pay the police force to keep us safe. Tracking down the rapists are part of that job. and you don't think that's worth it? (fyi a rape kit collects evidence. it's not a medical procedure) you are a genius. everybody should think just like you do. It's too bad there aren't more genius' like you in the world. what a safe place it would be then.

  5. in fact it is a medical procedure used to collect evidence, and I suppose if a woman is raped we should also expect the taxpayers to pay for the abortion procedure too right, how about some counseling too? perhaps if she keeps the child we ought support her and the baby forever too, thats the least we can do right? so that was the only thing I said that you could find a problem with?

  6. in fact it is a medical procedure, even though it collects evidence, i suppose when a woman is raped we should also offer to pay for an abortion if she decides to have one, maybe a little counseling too, perhaps we should also offer to support both the woman and child if she decides to keep the baby, it is the least we can do after all

  8. Hi, I'm a big fan of the daily show in london. And I was just wondering if anyone has noticed how cute john Mccain is and how much he looks like Hans Moleman?
Do you think you could bring that in to sketch?

    Many thanks

  10. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, she does another interview and puts us deeper into shame. Even those of us who saw this train wreck coming from a mile away, cannot hide from the embarrassment brought on by our own government and the lost followers who are able to actually take Sarah Palin serious and allow her to represent our Country in any way shape or form.

She makes absolutely no sense what so ever and cannot even give a straight sentence let alone answer a straight question. Can I ask if any one has taken the time to dictate her word for word during any given interview to determine if she has ever completed even one grammatical sentence without taking extremely long pauses in between words? This is getting scary now!
