Strange Magic Typewriter Foils GOP Congressman

POSTED BY: G. Xavier Robillard

Being an elected official can be very difficult. And I don't mean your run of the mill keeping track of who's paying you to vote which way kind of difficult.

Take Republican Congressman Bill Sali of Idaho, for example. His campaign seems unable to master the incredibly difficult task of uploading TPS reports to the Federal Election Commission with a computing device…

"I am unable to file the 2nd quarter 2008 FEC report. I first attempted to upload a file to the FEC site on June 6. I again tried on June 9, using the new FEC software update, without success."

Sali's office has apparently had financial disclosure problems since for a while now. Since at least 2005. But, you know, they always have really good excuses…

* Couldn't figure out how to make the smiley face with the parenthesis

* Tried to upload FEC report through Facebook, but it was down

* Office network was inflicted by some sort of porn spam/virus

* Dog was home sick and spilled coffee on the hard drive

* Madden '09 just released

  1. Not only can he not figure out how to file his reports, he also can't figure out the boundaries of the district he represents, and opened his campaign office in District 2, conveniently located in the same building as his congressional office. Hmmm…

  2. Uhm, julie, I hate to break the news to you, but Sali's predecessor almost lost the primary to a person that stripped nekkid on stage and talking about alien masters. 1d idaho has taken the "kookiest congressional district" away from 2d years ago, just after 2d elected a jailed felon

  3. Ever since I caught him buggering his inflatable Reagan doll as a boy, I just knew he was going to do great things!

  4. Pay no attention to the ramblings of the Anti-Sali Socialists like Julie!Thanks for helping to spread the word about the wonderfully skilled office staff of Congressman Bill Sali, Hero of the Owyhees! To help your little blog get some more traffic, I linked to your post in my post about how well you sang the praises of Congressman Sali:

  6. We've been waiting for two years for Comedy Central to get wind of Sali.

    This may help explain things:

    He was repeatedly reelected to the Idaho Legislature, but he won his 2006 bid for Congress with less than 50 percent of the vote, and we can't see him fooling the 1st District voters again.
